Past Performance

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Policy and Plans
Conducted literature review and assessment of existing policies to examine the impact of changes in family structure on Veteran outcomes. Developed research methodology and fact finding guidelines and conducted comparative analysis of policies, programs and systems to identify best practices, similarities, and gaps.

Led a case study on the Madrid Train Bombings in support of the Office of Net Assessment. Examined and analyzed how the Red Components (radicalization, target selection, recruitment/personnel, command/control/communications, training/education/preparation, intelligence/counterintelligence, logistics, finance and weapons/tactics) contributed to the attack.

Provides onsite support to the Commandant of the Marine Corps with subject matter expertise for strategic communications and information sharing to allow for continued development, implementation and sustainment of communications initiatives for the Marine Corps. Powell Strategies provided analysis and interpretation of the external environment and identification of relevant issues and trends important to Headquarters Marine Corps, and evaluated the effectiveness of communication programs.  Strategic research & analysis activities included: environmental scanning; stakeholder research and analysis; audience research and measuring communication initiative and campaign effectiveness.
