Conducted literature review and assessment of existing policies to examine the impact of changes in family structure on Veteran outcomes. Developed research methodology and fact finding guidelines and conducted comparative analysis of policies, programs and systems to identify best practices, similarities, and gaps.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Led a case study on the Madrid Train Bombings in support of the Office of Net Assessment. Examined and analyzed how the Red Components (radicalization, target selection, recruitment/personnel, command/control/communications, training/education/preparation, intelligence/counterintelligence, logistics, finance and weapons/tactics) contributed to the attack.
Office of Marine Corps Communications
Provides onsite support to the Commandant of the Marine Corps with subject matter expertise for strategic communications and information sharing to allow for continued development, implementation and sustainment of communications initiatives for the Marine Corps. Powell Strategies provided analysis and interpretation of the external environment and identification of relevant issues and trends important to Headquarters Marine Corps, and evaluated the effectiveness of communication programs. Strategic research & analysis activities included: environmental scanning; stakeholder research and analysis; audience research and measuring communication initiative and campaign effectiveness.

The first program of its kind in the nation, the Veteran Institute for Procurement is conducted by professional subject-matter specialists in the essentials necessary to win government contracts: law, accounting, insurance, human resources, marketing and proposals. It also provides participants with access to Federal and prime contracting executives along with a national network of veteran owned small businesses that they can team with on opportunities.
