Our work involves the full range of communication and management services, including creative planning, new program/product research, writing, and managing client communications, promotions, and public relations, establishing and maintaining relationships and partnerships.

 

We are seeking a Communication Consultant to join our team of qualified, diverse, and highly motivated professionals to provide support to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver client facing communications and consulting services to support the development of communication strategies for the VA.
  • Lead planning, creation, updating, and delivery of professional communications materials and activities that convey the mission, services and accomplishments of VA.
  • Provide expert communications and administrative services in communications management and planning and research.
  • Develop and maintain communications plans for programs and projects.
  • Implement communications campaigns.
  • Design and manage outreach programs to improve adoption of change and increase support.
  • Facilitate workgroups, user forums, and other campaigns to maximize stakeholder engagements.
  • Develop newsletters, memos, announcements, publications, reports and other written and verbal communications to ensure timely and accurate communication with all project/program stakeholders.
  • Develop content for program websites.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, English, Journalism or a related field with a minimum of five years relevant experience in writing and editing healthcare policy materials and federal government reports intended for internal and public distribution.
  • Experience with communication strategizing, planning, and implementation within the federal government.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce professionally written and edited reports and publications. Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Suite of applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio, and SharePoint as well as Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and research techniques and methods. Ability to apply research to identify communication needs and target audiences.
