ANNAPOLIS, MD – U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized Powell Strategies as one of the 835 recipients of the 2022 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor. This marks the third consecutive year Powell Strategies has earned the Gold Award. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes job creators who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. Of the 835 nationally recognized employers, Powell Strategies was 1 of 52 employers located in Maryland to receive the award. The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs – with requirements varying for large, medium, and small employers. ANNAPOLIS, MD – U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized Powell Strategies as one of the 849 recipients of the 2021 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by U.S. Department of Labor. This marks the second year in a row Powell Strategies has earned the Gold Award.


The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes job creators who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.

Of the 849 nationally recognized employers, Powell Strategies was 1 of 57 employers located in Maryland to have received the award.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is based on a number of criteria ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs – with requirements varying for large, medium, and small employers. More than 1,400 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018.
