Rebekah Sanderlin is an Army wife, a writer, and a marketing and outreach professional supporting Powell Strategies’ National Outreach Team. Past clients have included the Florida Dental Association, Chic Verte Jewelry, Golden Acorn Equestrian Consulting and Development and Special Ops Survivors.
She currently writes a weekly column for Military.com and contributes news stories to that site and to several other publications. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, Cnn.com National Public Radio, Self Magazine, Maxim Magazine, and others.
As a volunteer, Rebekah has worked with several military-oriented non-profits, including the Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) and Blue Star Families. She is in her second term as an MFAN advisor and currently serves on Blue Star Families’ National Advisory Board. Through her volunteer efforts, she directly influenced the 2010 Presidential Directive on Military Families. Also in 2010, Rebekah joined President Barack Obama and several members of his Cabinet as a speaker at the kickoff event for the National Fatherhood Initiative. In 2014 she joined Michelle Obama on stage as a speaker at the Joining Forces-Philanthropy launch event.
Rebekah graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., where she majored in communications. She is pursuing a master’s degree in communications at Johns Hopkins University.
