Michael has five years of experience gathering and analyzing data, writing profiles and explanatory documents, and evaluating the relevance of media items to clients. His expertise is in research and information services in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.
Since joining Powell Strategies, Michael spends his time on communications and media analysis for federal clients, helping them understand trends in news coverage.
Michael has written frequently on public policy, including energy, tax policy, national security, and U.S. policy in the Middle East. His articles and blog posts have been published by the Washington Monthly, the Truman National Security Project, France 24, and International Affairs Review.
Prior to joining Powell Strategies, Michael worked in research and analytical capacities at Bloomberg, the National Institute for Early Education Research, and Hildebrandt Baker Robbins (a former Thomson Reuters affiliate).
Michael earned his M.S. in Global Affairs from Rutgers University and a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University.
